Swakhammer Welding Company

Swakhammer Welding CompanyThis is the first model railroad craftsman kit I ever built. I started it before I left Beaverton, Oregon in about 1988 and I finished it while living in Bellevue, WA in December 1991.  I learned a lot about building and detailing a kit when I worked through this one.  When I started it, I didn’t have any power tools nor did I have access to a table saw, so for a base I used laminated corrugated cardboard.  Not a good choice, though, because it warps over time.

Outstanding modeling Chris. Where’s your Cooper’s pics? Would love to see you re-release your kit or put out another!

  2. Thanks so much for the kind words. I will be putting up the Cooper’s Garage pictures again very soon. In terms of Clance Hillside Station, the kit is still available at I’m trying to find some time to design two new kits for this holiday.
