Our First Visit to Victoria B.C.

Our First Visit to Victoria B.C.

ArrivalIn October 2006, shortly after we were engaged, my wife and I took a romantic weekend holiday in Victoria BC. It was the first time either of us had ever visited Victoria. We have many happy memories from our visit.

We got up early one Friday morning and boarded the Victoria Clipper, a high speed catamaran, at the docks in downtown Seattle.  The Clipper took us to Victoria in about 2 hours.  Along the way we saw beautiful water and stormy skies.  Then once we entered the port at Victoria, we boarded a tour bus that took us to Butchart Gardens, and later through the historic old town of downtown Victoria.

Normally, we don’t enjoy guided tours, but this one was well organized and showed us a lot of Victoria that wouldn’t have been easy to explore on our own.  The tour bus took us to the Empress hotel in downtown Victoria, right across from where we later would depart on the Clipper for Seattle.  While at the Empress we had lunch and explored the exhibits of art and culture there.
