May 24, 2010 – Vienna, Austria
The vast grounds of the former imperial stables are now the home to several impressive, cutting-edge museums. The MuseumsQuartier features seven unique museums joined together with a big courtyard in the center with fountains, cafes, and ever-changing lounge furniture. It’s Vienna’s artistic family room!
The Leopold Museum features several temporary exhibits of modern Austrian art, and a top floor that holds the largest collection of works by Egon Schiele. There are also paintings by Klimt, Moser, and others.
The Museum of Modern Art is Austria’s leading modern art gallery. It’s the striking lava-paneled building – three stories tall and four stories deep, offering seven floors of far-out art that really wows the visitors.
This huge state of the art museum displays revolving exhibits showing off art of the last generation, like Klee, Picasso, and Pop artists.
