France 2015 – Paris

France 2015 - Paris

We spent about 10 days in the city of light and that was still not enough. We lived and travelled around Paris like the locals – with our Navigo Discovery Card on all the subways.

We visited the iconic Eiffel Tower during the day and night, the Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, the Orsay, the Grand Palais and the nearby Les Invalides. Walking around Paris we discovered le Pantheon, Luxembourg Gardens, and we had lunch on a lazy Parisian afternoon in Jardin Des Tuileries between the Louvre and the Place de la Concorde. We visited great churches like Notre Dame and La Sainte Chapelle. We crossed the famous love lock bridge – Pont des Arts, and we discovered that taking down most all of the love locks there didn’t stop the love lock urge which seems to have spread over all the bridges in Paris!

We take a time trip back to those heady days of Impressionists by visiting Montmartre and take the train to Vernon and a bus to Giverny to see Monet’s Gardens.

We venture outside of Paris to see Versailles and Disneyland.

Finally a Seine river cruise and a visit to the beautiful Palais Garnier and the Musee Rodin complete our visit.
