For the fourth year in a row, we spent this Easter Sunday visiting the beautiful fields in full bloom up in Mount Vernon, Washington.
The crowds were light and the tulips were resplendent. The kites were flying high at Tulip Town due to the strong gusty winds all over the area.
We drove up around 10:30 in the morning and arrived around 11:30. We started at Roozengaarde and unlike last years, this year we visited the fields at Roozengaarde because there were so many tulips in bloom.
After Roozengaarde, we drove over to Tulip Town and took the tulip tractor trolley around all the beautiful fields. Parking was tight at Tulip Town – lots of visitors from out of town.
Finally, we ended our visit at the quaint and peaceful Washington State University Discovery Gardens. This is a test garden of flowers and vegetables that the students set up and maintain every year. We didn’t get a chance to see it last year, so this year we enjoyed seeing it again.
We prepared a short 10 minute video of our journey to the tulips this year and a slide show of some of the sights and sounds:
