February 14 – 17, 2014
We want to wish all our friends all over the world the happiest of Valentines weekends. For us it was a quiet weekend filled with romance and closeness.
This year we decided to celebrate the holidays and my wife’s birthday where it’s warm and tropical – Hawaii. We visited Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Hawaiian Island. Along the way we learned a lot about Hawaiian history and culture and had an opportunity to enjoy some of the most beautiful spots in this country.
We visit Smith Tower in Pioneer Square, downtown Seattle with it’s unique Chinese Room on the 35th floor and the wraparound observation deck where you can take in the sights of the Seattle skyline.
For the sixth year in a row, we visit the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in Mount Vernon Washington. We see beautiful fields of tulips at Roozengaarde and Tulip Town, then we visit our favorite garden off the beaten path – the WSU Discovery Garden. We finish our trip with a visit to our favorite cafe, Calico Cupboard.
